Candidate & Political Party Independent Issues

These non-candidate, non-partisan issues listed below are important to me. I am tired of all the Bush–bashing and pointing of fingers by both parties. Its way past time to do something positive rather than casting aspersions at any political figure …Republican, Democrat, or other. I am still in search of a candidate that shares most of the following views.

1. We are engaged in a war against Islamic Fascists who have vowed to kill us. Offensive action is the only way to win this war. These people are religious fanatics. Negotiating with them is irrelevant. It is like all other wars…kill or be killed. I would rather the fighting be taking place in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria,…rather than New York City, Washington, or Jacksonville. Continue military offensive action in the war on Islamic terrorists wherever they are in the world!

As some examples of proof, the Iranian leader has openly stated he wants to kill Americans and eliminate Israel from the face of the earth. Osama Ben Laden has also expressed these views in several taped messages. They think its ok to strap explosives to children and have them [filtered word] themselves up to kill others.

2. What part of “illegal immigrant” is hard to understand!!!??? I am against giving “illegal immigrants” anything but a bus ticket back to wherever they came from. No jobs, drivers licenses, welfare, sanctuary, college tuition or anything else. I am against the concept of “anchor babies” born to “illegal immigrants” being US citizens. I am for LEGAL immigration. I am strongly against “amnesty” for those ~12 million “illegal immigrants” who are already here. They have jumped in line ahead of others. That’s not fair to others who have tried to follow the rules. Example - My wife’s employer has several LEGAL immigrants they employ. These legal immigrants have legal green cards and pay taxes.

We have already passed a bill to build a fence…why isn’t it being done? We need to secure our borders as a start… stop the “bleeding”. And then debate what to do about those who are here illegally.

Secure our borders and get rid of illegal immigrants. No social security benefits or drivers licenses for illegal immigrants…or their children even if born here in USA. (What part of the word illegal is hard to understand!)

3. I don’t want my taxes raised for any reason. I am for the “Fair Tax” (Bortz et al) and the illumination of the IRS and all of the current tax code. The last 8 years have shown that lower taxes actually raises the level of net government revenue!!! Reduce taxes and size of government. The "Fair Tax" is a great idea!

4. I am against socialized medical care The US has ~301 million people (July 2007 estimate). ~47 million don’t have health insurance; that is 15.6 % don’t currently have health insurance. ~12 million of the 47 million are illegal immigrants; ~10-15 million are rich and don’t want or don’t need health insurance; ~5-10 million are young and would rather by a new car or DVD than health insurance. That leaves about 20 million people out of 301 million people that don’t have health insurance that actually want it. That’s 6.6%. Why would we ruin the current system for 6.6% of the people??!!! A simple tax break to pay for health insurance for the needy would be ok.

5. I don’t want the government doing anything I can or should be able do for myself….if I want to…as long as it hurts no one else. The size and scope of government should be reduced.

6. Global warming caused by mans actions or inactions is a myth…religion…hoax….an excuse to get more tax money liberals like Al Gore. There is much scientific evidence that shows that the earth and sun have gone through cycles of hot and cold for centuries. The current Antarctic snow cover is more now than last year at this time. The Artic snow cover is 1% less now than last year at this time. There have been celestial observation that the polar ice caps on Mars have receded…indicating the Sun is hotter. They have uncovered tree and ferns in the Greenland ice indicating that it once was warmer long before man arrived. And even if it does get warmer…maybe Canada and Norway could have a longer growing season and feed the worlds hungry people. Global warming might just be a good thing.

7. I think that the president should be a person (man or woman) of the highest demonstrated moral ethics and convictions; a strong spiritual character is essential (and I don’t mean to imply religious or any particular religion).

8. We as a nation need to unite and return to the spiritual greatness that our founding fathers started. Allow “God” (however defined or practiced) back into our society and stop “politically correct“ harassment of Christians, Christian morals, Christian attitudes, and Christian practices.

9. Remove restrictions on oil drilling here in US. Reduce restrictions and red tape on building more oil refineries and nuclear power plants.
