McCain's Weekend With the VP Candidates

McCain's Weekend With the VP Candidates

John McCain has invited some big-name Republicans to join him for a cookout over the Memorial Day weekend.

While the campaign says it's merely a get-together, there's no question some of the guests are potential vice presidential candidates.

Among those coming are Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Florida Gov. Charlie Crist and former presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Those three may not be THE "short-list," but they are defintely on any short list.

The Politico takes a look at the pros and cons of these three.

Any ideas as to who else should make the short-list?

There is speculation in Georgia that Gov. Sonny Perdue might be a candidate. He is the former chairman of the Republican Governors Association when the group raised record amounts. Plus, he finally broke the GOP drought that lasted 130 years in Georgia.

Also, it might be wise, strategically, to consider Mike Huckabee as a way to bring conservatives to McCain, since they're lukewarm about his now.
