DONT TREAT HER "SPECIAL"
I think that Palin using her personal emil to conduct business is illeagle. I pretty sure she singed a confidentiality form saying that she would not do that exact thing. I think that she should be punished the same as any other State employee would if they did something like that. Why should she get special treatment?
Palin's October 7 Jacksonville visit
Can anyone confirm whether there threats made from the crowd at the Palin/McCain rally at the Landing? The Washington Post reported there were shouts of "Kill Him" when Palin brought up the Ayers mess. However another story said this actually occured at the Clearwater rally. Just curious.

Not much gray in this moral decision
Sarah makes yet another poor decision and this time it is in the time-honored favorite area of hers, Morality.
The problem with being a God-driven moralist, 'wrong' looks considerably different than 'right' and she MUST know the difference on the issue of using the appropriate email site for State Government function and her personal email for everything else.
What might look like a no biggie to an 'amoralist' looks pretty putrid to a 'moralist.' One possible out for Sarah, however, is that perhaps God made her do it. Remember Flip Wilson? Whenever he went wrong, as Geraldine, it was the Devil that made him/her do it. Either way, it behooves Sarah to fess up, repent and never do it again.
National politics certainly has brought increased attention to Ms. Palin whereby her considerable lies about Obama fit right in with this bit of instate deceit.
I feel somewhat sorry for our Governor for her wrong-headed acceptance of being McCain's running mate. Her new exposure has indeed left her less of a Governor once she returns to the state after the November defeat. Then again, as with the email fiasco, you'd think she would have known better.
Biden vs. Palin Press
The main reason the press is spending more time on Palin vs. Biden is because he has a long track record that the press, and the average citizen with an internet connection, can search as a way of determining his record. When you come from the mayor of Wasilla (probably little press outside of the Mat-Su) then spend 1/2 a term as governor of Alaska (also little press outside of the state), the media really doesn't have much to research.
When you compound that by not giving any press conference or unscripted comments in the four weeks since you have been chosen to be the VP candidate, it all adds up to people trying to figure out who in the heck she is. If the Republicans really despise the coverage that she is getting, then they should fill the "information void" by having her answer real questions, not the softballs she has been served in her only two televised interviews. Not sure if you watched it, but from what I saw, I don't think either of them can be called hard-hitting.
Who cares?
People are way too critical re: Palin as opposed to Biden. Liberal media? I don't hear half as much about him as I do on Palin. Where is the neutrality in journalism these days? Wishful thinking on my part I guess.
Who cares ??????
WHO CARE ...., The Liberal Media are soooo bias. I never listen what they were saying anyway. I try to keep away from TV's except to my favorite Station "Channel 3', and Fox. I am not interested what Obama and Biden political ads because nothing they can convince me. I rather listen to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingram.

Bad karma
While there may be a legal gray area about doing this, I can see that loophole closing VERY fast. No government business should be conducted on a private account like yahoo or gmail, for a couple of very important reasons that have just come to light. First, those accounts will have poorer security (as the Gov just discovered) and risk losing confidential information. Second, there is no accountability with private accounts, and there may be information generated with email that we Alaskans are entitled to under the Public Records Act (which the Gov has also discovered). Bottom line for Sarah, it's bad form at best and diabolically evil at worst (assuming all sorts of Nixon-esque conspiracies).
Personal email use.
Let's see, what possible problems could occur from state employees using personal email accounts to conduct state business. Oh yeah, they already have state email accounts for this purpose. Using a personal account means that they are not archived like state emails, how does the public know what is being done on these emails and so how does the public get access to public information if needed.
Email
SO WHAT! If a person wants to do some extra work that bennifits the state from home or on the road let them. Is there a recording of every phone call or discussion at the water cooler.
We already have a hard time keeping talent, why throw extra sensless rules on them. Lets get the job done and and not nit pick the details. We hire people that are able to do the job. If you don't trust them enough that you have to monitor email then they should not work for you. They can go operate the french fryer.
If you're using a personal e-mail address, you're doing it wrong
The only reason to use your personal e-mail instead of the secure, state-owned e-mail, is if you're doing something illegal or unethical. It's not like you can't use the state e-mail from home. Also Palin broke the Yahoo terms and conditions. So good job on that too.
